Tabrez sees potential in Ajay and allows him to be a part of his gang. He surrenders himself to Tabrez, and requests him to recruit him into his gang. Gaya Singh soon learns that he has been trapped and Ajay kills him after a brief fight. Gaya Singh heads to a location where Ajay is told to be hiding. DSP Shukla and Ajay join forces and lure Gaya Singh into a trap. Gaya Singh goes frantic upon learning about the kidnapping and is on the lookout of killer. DSP Shukla helps Ajay and his friends escape jail.Ījay then kidnaps Sooraj Mal, one of the leading businessman and a rising figure in local politics, who was for long, a target of Tabrez Alam and Gaya Singh, but neither could do the job because of the high security provided to him.
Ajay pleads with the DSP, Shukla, to save him, who has recently developed strained relations with Gaya Singh due to severe conflict of opinions. Gaya Singh and his men assault and humiliate Ajay and his friends, for meddling in their racket. Tabrez Alam is a powerful MLA and influential Muslim party leader, who is also an underworld don and controller of a large kidnapping racket.Ījay and his friends are brought to jail. It turns out that the victim is under protection of Gaya Singh (Yashpal Sharma), one of Tabrez Alam's ( Nana Patekar) henchmen. The kidnapping goes wrong at the last minute. When Ajay's father discloses the corruption scandal to the media, things go awry, and left with pressure from his creditors, Ajay and his friend decide to kidnap a government official to repay the amount. When his father's ideals start clashing with Ajay's ideologies, a rift between father and son emerges.Ījay borrows a lot of money, with the help of his friend ( Ayub Khan) and bribes higher officials to get his name on the police force merit list. Shastri expects his son to follow in his steps and believe in his ideals and values. An ex-schoolteacher and Gandhi follower, now a social activist, Prof. His father, Raghuvansh Shastri ( Mohan Agashe) is a highly principled and moralistic man. Don't go asking for many logic.Ajay Shastri ( Ajay Devgn) is an unemployed, honest graduate who dreams of joining the police force. But then was gone till the last screen where nothing of substance was shown for her. Mahi gill appeared with a bang, dominating the screen. Rest of the people and villains were a bit like caricature. The young girl was featured in only few episodes but she showed the stunted nature of a teenage emotions very well.
Romance was done well, though only few shots were shown.
Totally in sync with the slightly rustic but practical and sharp minded character. His wife's role was done very suavely by the artist. He always brings an image of a good person at heart, to the screen. That's why this series started off with great potential but finished with a whimper.Īcting wise Arunodoy singh has been a favourite from his few big screen appearances. There are many loopholes in the later episodes. Didn't feel natural.īut it's okay because we sympathise with the main protagonist and his relentless drowning into convoluted harshness of life. The last episode actually was very fast but became a bit contrived. The storyline is simple but narrated with twists and turns. The picturesque Haridwar/Lachhmanjhula/Hrishikesh area has been captured beautifully. The Nostalgic 70-80s theme with appropriate RD/Asha songs give a mood. Though a murder of a teenager is at the center of the series, it never wallows in melodrama. The series is made with good humour at heart.
